What are we?

Wildlife Rescue & Protection – Mid Sussex (WRAP) acts as a service for any wildlife requiring hospitalisation, veterinary care and/or rehabilitation.

What we do

On receipt of a call (07960 294495 & 07528 594119) we try, in the first instance to ascertain if the casualty requires veterinary assistance. If this is so, we ask the caller if they could get the casualty to a Vet if possible – THIS SAVES VALUABLE TIME, and means treatment and/or medication can be provided a lot earlier.

Once this initial attention has been carried out, the casualty can be collected and taken to one of our members who has experience and facilities to for ‘TLC’ and rehabilitation.

In a situation where the caller cannot take the injured/abandoned creature to a vet –WRAP will ALWAYS attend.

We will go out to road traffic accidents involving wildlife victims, respond to household concerns relating to wildlife – regardless of species – in fact anything where wildlife is in trouble.
Deer are the only large mammal we are unable to cope with as this is a specialist rescue and we haven’t the facilities – BUT, WE KNOW A MAN THAT DOES!!

We cover as much of the Mid Sussex area as we can, but wherever you are, if you have an injured creature give us a call.

Established in 2008, we are a small group of volunteers  dedicated to spending our spare time caring and protecting wildlife in mid-sussex.

Our Aim

Educate, support and protect

Protection, as our name implies, means that we keep a check on any wildlife habitats we are, or are made aware of. Planning Applications need to be closely monitored with regard to any Protected Species, as this will require specific action by experts for that particular creature.

WRAP believe strongly that EDUCATION is the way forward. We offer talks on a variety of subjects to do with British Wildlife, and the work we do. Any organisations, groups, schools or committees are most welcome to contact us for advice, PLEASE GIVE US A CALL!
